Your septic system is recommended to be pumped every 3-5 years! Note: if you are pumping your septic system more often than this, you may need to schedule a inspection to completely  target your problem for the right solution.

The toilet gurgles whenever the main line is full of water and can not vent properly due to a clog, either in the main line or in the septic tank.  First step is  to contact your local septic company and have them open the septic tank to see if it’s full or partially clogged.

The  waste water flows from the house into the septic tank, where solids settle at the bottom and oils float to the top. If the septic tank is not full you may have a dry “ p “ trap under a fixture or a broken pipe.  A clogged vent pipe may cause a smell also. I would start by calling my local septic company to help resolve the issue. 

If water is standing near your septic system this may be the results from a running toilet, or a drain field that is not draining off the amount of water you are using. You may need to consult with your local septic company to resolve the issues. 

Common warning signs include:     •    Slow drains or backups     •    Foul odors indoors or outdoors     •    Standing water or soggy soil near the  septic tank or drain field
